WOMENS ICE HOCKEY IN SOUTH AUSTRALIA
WOMENS ICE HOCKEY IN SOUTH AUSTRALIA IS GROWING ALL THE TIME - AND YOU CAN BE PART OF THE GROWTH!!
Ice hockey is for everybody and more and more female players have joined the game in the past two decades across the globe…and the numbers are still going up substantially.
Currently, Ice Hockey South Australia provide Development Trainings for females new to the sport. These sessions are designed for those players who already have a basic level of skating and a general knowledge of ice hockey. For females wishing to become involved in Ice Hockey it is recommended that they enrol in the Skate School through the Ice Arena prior to attending the Development Training session. New players may also like to register with the Hockey Academy.
Other opportunities to become involved in Ice Hockey include the IIHF Global Girls Game (held annually in February) and the World Girls’ Ice Hockey Weekend (annually in October).

Adelaide has been involved in this competition since its inception in 2006. As the Adelaide Assassins, the team enjoyed a strong presence in this competition, winning Championships from 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 & 2010 backing them up they won again in 2012. Over time the team has undergone a few transformations and is now competing in the AWIHL as the Adelaide Rush.
