IHSA 2020 Update - Coronavirus (COVID-19)

March 18, 2020

Due to widespread concerns about the Coronavirus (COVID-19), the South Australian Ice Hockey Association Committee has made the reluctant decision to postpone the start of the 2020 Winter Season and all IHSA sanctioned events until the 6th May 2020. The Board will review this decision on April 28th 2020.  This includes all senior and junior hockey games and trainings, state trainings, Old Timers, Valkyries, Ice Blast and Drop the Puck tournament.

The Committee considered a full range of “social distancing” and hygiene options before making this decision.  This development is as disappointing for us as it must be for you, but we hope you understand why we had to make this call. Our Clubs and Board Members were united in the decision to temporarily postpone the start of our 2020 Winter Season - based on the advice and guidance from medical personnel, Ice Hockey Australia and other public health authorities, it was agreed that this decision is in the best interest of our members, officials and volunteers.

IHSA feel this is the socially responsible action to take in line with the current public health advice that we are following.  If you require further information please contact the IHSA Secretary & Member Protection Officer - secretary@icehockeysa.com.au

Thank you for your continued support, IHSA.
