LOWE'S HAT TRICK LEADS THE WINGS TO WIN OVER TIGERS

Jared Lowe’s three goals led the Adelaide Redwings to a 4 - 1 victory over the Adelaide Tigers in IHSA Senior B League play recently at the Ice Arena.

Both teams battled through a scoreless opening period before the Wings scored the first of their four when Thomas Williams took a pass from Jason Wood to open the scoring. Lowe then scored the first goal of his three tallies when he converted a pass from veteran Peter Boyle to put the Wings up by two heading into the final frame.

The Tigers jumped back into game contention when Jeremy Klein was successful on an unassisted effort near the midway mark of the third, but then Lowe’s second goal on a pass from Louis Nikolic at 7:22 gave the Wings some breathing space.

Lowe ( pictured ) then added the cherry to his night with his third marker in the dying seconds as the first place Wings improved their record to 10 - 1 - 1 - 0 for 32 points, 10 points in front of the second place Tigers.

Lowe’s hat trick gives him a division leading 11 goals for the season and places him second in the points scoring race, only one point back of the co-leaders, B.J. Letheby, and Jeremy Klein of the Tigers.

The Redwings outshot the Tigers 34 - 27 with Johnny Cousins blocking 26 shots to earn the win for the Wings, while Claudia Tom stopped 30 of 34 shots fired at the Tigers goal.
