TEAM CHEMISTRY PAYS OFF AS JOKERS DOWN FALCONS
IHSA Senior C League - Round 7 Game 2
Jokers 5 - Falcons 1
The Adelaide Jokers are focused on team chemistry and the productive approach paid off in a 5 - 1 victory over the Adelaide Falcons in Senior C League action last Thursday at Thebarton.
Five individual players all chipped in with single goals as the Jokers scored four times in the second and then added their fifth in the third to earn the win.
Luke Burford, Jess Main, Anthony Pribanic, Andrew Grice, and Mark George all scored in the win, while Heath Tamme fired the lone goal for the Falcons.
Both clubs battled through a scoreless first period, and then the teams exchanged goals in the early stages of the second, before the Jokers kicked into high gear scoring three late goals to go to the break up 4-1 after the second. The Jokers added an insurance marker when George scored at 14:46 of the third to seal the win.
The victory improves the Jokers season record to 3-3, good enough for third place with 9 points on the five team C League ladder. The Falcons (0 - 4) have yet to win a game in the division, although they have played two less games than the Jokers.

“Both Sami (Mantere) and I were very happy with the Jokers performance again the Falcons. We performed great even though we had to face a goalie from a higher grade. Every player on the team went in with the right mindset, putting in 100% into the game.” said Jokers Coach Mitchell Brown following the win.
“The team had a chance to work on points learnt from games recently played. We’re now focusing on developing the chemistry between our lines and working as a single unit. We’re finding that each player has diverse skills and are able to make critical plays and develop goal scoring opportunities.”
Jessica Forrest stopped 14 of 15 shots to earn the win in the Jokers goal, while the Falcons’ Lachlan Johnson had a busy night stopping 28 of 33 pucks in the loss.
The next Senior C League action on the calendar is this Thursday 25 May at 8:15 p.m. when the Blackhawks meet the Falcons, while the Jokers faceoff with the first place Redwings at 9:45 pm.
