FALCONS MOVE INTO FIRST PLACE AFTER WIN OVER HAWKS
IHSA Senior A League - Round 6 Game 1
Falcons 5 - Blackhawks 3
The Adelaide Falcons moved into first place on the Senior A League ladder following a 5 - 3 win over the Blackhawks in action last week at Thebarton.
Matt Noble led the Falcons scoring attack with two goals, with Reece Boundy, James Hearne, and Andy Scott adding one goal each.
Connor Oxlad’s two goals, and Dylan Collier with a single tally accounted for the Hawks’ offense.
The Falcons led 3 - 1 and 3 - 2 after the opening two periods of play, with both sides both firing 22 shots at the opposition goals.
Noble, is another recruit from the inline ranks, who is making a positive transition to the ice.
“I think I only took 2 shots for 2 goals and the assist was shorthanded at 3 all.” said Noble.
I thought as a whole, our team effort was a bit average and, we were lucky to walk away with the win.”
Seb Woodlands picked up the win in goal for the Falcons, with Charlie Wragg taking the loss for the Tribe.
The Falcons currently have a 3 - 2 - 1 - 0 record for 11 points at the top of the five team Senior A Ladder, even though they have played one more game than have played one game than the Tigers and Redwings, both tied in second position with 3 - 1 - 0 - 1 records with 10 points each.
The Jokers are next on the ladder with a record 1 - 2 - 1 - 0 for 5 points, while the Hawks are 0 - 4 at the bottom of the pack.
Both the Blackhawks and Falcons will return to action again this Sunday 21 May at the Ice Arena, with the Falcons meeting the Tigers in a 6:45pm game, followed by the Jokers and Blackhawks at 8:15pm.
