Jokers 10 Falcons 1

The Adelaide Jokers opened the first period with three goals and from there never looked back as they cruised to a 10 - 1 win over the Falcons in the second Senior C League game played last week at the Ice Arena.

Mark George was the top scorer for the Jokers firing three goals and adding an assist, while James Burford and Andrew Grice added two goals each. Tim Simmons, Anthony Pribanic and Ben Davis all added single goals, while Gail Painter also starred, adding four assists in the win.

Daniel Riding scored the only goal for the Falcons, an unassisted effort with less than five minutes remaining in the game, spoiling the shutout bid by Jokers goalkeeper Jessica Forrest.

Like most in the Jokers lineup, George is a newcomer in the green and red uniform, having previously played with the Flyers and Lightning in the South Australian Summer League.

“We're still relatively new as teammates so it helped that Sami (Jokers Coach Mantere) experimented with some different line combinations in the game against the Falcons”, said George

"After losing last week to the Tigers, we’re pleased to get a solid win but more importantly, we’re beginning to gel as a team.”

The victory improves the Jokers early season record to 1 - 1, while the Falcons go to 0 - 1.

The Jokers outshot the Falcons 37 - 14.
