JUNIOR ICE HOCKEY IN SOUTH AUSTRALIA
WHETHER JUST BEGINNING OR HAVING PLAYED FOR YEARS ICE HOCKEY IS ONE OF THE COOLEST SPORTS FOR JUNIORS – FUN, EXCITING, FAST-PACED SPORT THAT BUILDS TEAM SKILLS AND RESILIENCE
Currently, Ice Hockey South Australia runs multiple Ice Hockey Programs for Juniors aged 5-18 years of age. Programs cater for people of all abilities ranging from those just beginning to consider Ice Hockey as a sport to those who are much more experienced.
Our Ice Hockey Programs include:
Ice Blast is a 6-week fun filled Ice Hockey South Australia run 'Come-and-Try' Ice Hockey Program for all potential players (male and female) aged 5 (4 if they will be 5 and eligible to play in the following season) - 12 years of age who are welcome regardless of whether or not they have skated before. The program is aimed at giving kids the opportunity to wear ice hockey gear and learn ice hockey skills to see if they and their parent alike the sport and want to continue their development through further skate training, Ice Hockey Academy, and/or joining one of the IHSA junior Ice Hockey leagues.
The program is aimed at children (boys and girls) aged 5-12 years.
Program runs one hour per week for 6 weeks.
Week 1 participants and parents need to arrive 45 minutes early. It can take a while to work out what size gear to give them and to get them all geared up. It’s good if you have more than one person helping them gear up.
Gear - All players need to be in full gear, which is supplied. Ice Hockey is a fun sport, and the full protective gear for all players keeps it that way.
Number of Times - Participants can do Ice Blast more than once if they are not ready to join Novice / Pee Wees.
